No but its so worth it, its a DLC that only makes the game that much more enjoyable. That makes the expansion and DLC worth getting, but not needed to enjoy the game as the base game is by itself very good. The base game, the expansion, and the DLC are each very good. It is worth the purchase price for a single play through though, IMO. If you like trading or a real end game (maps or rifts) then you won’t find that here. If you want to grind one character to max level with BiS gear, you will also get a lot of initial play value out of GD as well.
